Spielbank Bad Dürkheim: games, opening hours, admission

Spielbank Bad Dürkheim at Schlossplatz 6–7 runs two separate slot areas: the rooms in the Kurhaus, open daily from 13:00, and the Jackpot Corner in the Haus Pfalzgraf, which opens as early as 11:00. The house states that admission to the gaming rooms is free. Entry is from 18 on presentation of an official identity document at reception, before you enter the rooms. The house states expressly that it offers neither an online game nor an app, and warns about fake accounts using its name.

Two buildings, two timetables

Bad Dürkheim is the only house described on this site with a second slot location that keeps its own hours. The Jackpot Corner in the Haus Pfalzgraf opens daily at 11:00 and closes at 02:00, or at 03:00 on Fridays, Saturdays and the eve of public holidays. The slot rooms in the Kurhaus open two hours later, at 13:00, and close at 02:00.

So a late-morning visitor will find something open only in the Haus Pfalzgraf, and a late-night Friday visitor has an extra hour there. This split appears in none of the usual listings and is the commonest planning error at this address.

The live tables are in the Kurhaus. American roulette runs daily from 15:00 to 01:00, and to 02:00 on Fridays, Saturdays and the eve of holidays; blackjack starts at 18:00 and finishes at 01:00. If you are coming for the tables, there is no point arriving before three in the afternoon.

Free admission, and the old prices still in circulation

Admission to the gaming rooms is free according to the house, as at the end of September 2026.

Directories and older articles still quote €3.50 for a day ticket and larger sums for longer passes. Those come from an earlier pricing policy and are obsolete, so they are not reproduced here.

Rhineland-Palatinate does not prescribe admission prices. They belong to the matters left to state casino legislation and to the houses themselves, which is why practice differs so widely — €5 in Dortmund and Osnabrück, €2 in Hamburg, nothing here and in Wiesbaden, and no published figure at all in Kassel.

Identification at reception, and clothing without a tie

The minimum age is 18. An official identity document or a comparable proof of identity is required, presented at reception before you enter the gaming rooms. The house words this more loosely than, say, Bad Homburg, which names driving licences and digital IDs as unacceptable. Visitors are on safe ground with a national ID card or a passport.

On clothing, Bad Dürkheim asks for neat, appropriate dress and bans headwear. In the Kurhaus rooms, flip-flops and sleeveless tops are additionally excluded. A jacket or tie is not required.

The check at reception is not a house formality. § 8 paragraph 3 of the Interstate Treaty on Gambling 2021 requires identification by inspection of an official identity document, or an equivalent identity check, and comparison against the national exclusion register — in land-based venues on every entry.

A branch, not a company of its own

Bad Dürkheim operates as a branch of Spielbank Bad Neuenahr GmbH & Co. KG, registered at the Koblenz district court under HRA 10245. That company runs several locations in Rhineland-Palatinate, and Bad Dürkheim is one of them rather than a legally independent house.

Rhineland-Palatinate therefore works, like Hesse and Hamburg, with private licensees under state supervision rather than a state-run operation. Which locations are permitted and on what terms is governed by the state's casino legislation, not by the federal treaty.

The treaty reaches casinos only in part. Its § 2 paragraph 2 lists exhaustively which provisions apply: the objectives in § 1, § 4(1) to (4), §§ 5, 6 and 7 to 8d, § 20, § 23 and the tenth section. Everything else — licensing, the rules of play, the casino levy — is state law. The levy is charged on gross gaming revenue, at rates that differ by state and are often progressive; no reliable current rate for Rhineland-Palatinate could be obtained from an official source.

The house warns about accounts trading on its name

Spielbank Bad Dürkheim states on its own initiative that it offers neither an online game nor an app, and warns explicitly about fake accounts. That warning deserves to be taken seriously: social media profiles that copy the name and look of a well-known house are a common way of steering deposits towards unlicensed sites.

The law supports the warning. Online casino games fall under § 22c GlüStV and are expressly outside the remit of the GGL, the joint gambling authority of the German states. They belong to the individual states, each of which may offer or license them for its own territory alone and only up to the number of casino licences its state casino act would have permitted as at 17 January 2020.

In addition, virtual slot games that replicate classic banked table games — roulette, blackjack or baccarat in particular — are prohibited in Germany. An online roulette bearing the name of a German casino therefore cannot be licensed. The GGL whitelist under § 9 paragraph 8 GlüStV shows who actually holds a permit.

OASIS: what the reception desk is really checking

The document check at reception does not stop at your date of birth. Your details are compared against OASIS, Germany's national gambling exclusion register, operated by the state of Hesse through the Regierungspräsidium Darmstadt for all sixteen states.

An exclusion works across every form of gambling and across the whole country: here, in a gaming arcade, at a betting shop and with any German-licensed online operator. A self-exclusion lasts at least three months, with one year as the default; a third-party exclusion at least a year. Neither ends when the minimum period expires — the entry continues until a written application to the Regierungspräsidium ends it, taking effect one week later for a self-exclusion and one month later for a third-party exclusion. Both applying and lifting are free of charge for players under § 8c GlüStV.

What the house does not publish

Bad Dürkheim gives no table limits. Minimum and maximum figures for roulette and blackjack circulate in directories; they are neither dated nor confirmed by a primary source, so they do not appear on this page.

Nor does the house publish a complete list of closing days in the sources retrieved. Other German casinos usually close on Good Friday, Volkstrauertag, Totensonntag, 24 December and 25 December. Whether the same applies here is not documented. If you are planning to travel on one of those days, confirm it on +49 6322 9424-0 first.

The poker offering is likewise only third-hand: cash games and tournaments with specific buy-ins are described elsewhere but could not be verified against the house itself. What is documented is American roulette and blackjack.

Admission and the exclusion register

Since 1 July 2021 every German Spielbank checks at the door against the nationwide exclusion register. Anyone entered in OASIS gets into play neither online nor on the premises. How OASIS works
