All reviews at a glance

Every review follows the same catalogue: six groups, 42 single criteria, fixed weights. The single scores are stated openly in each report so that the overall verdict can be recalculated.

How a review comes about

We open an account, deposit, play, verify ourselves, withdraw, and note down how long each step took. Only then is a grade given. That sequence is fixed regardless of which operator is being tested: no rating is published based on marketing material, a press kit, or a quick look at a homepage. Where a step cannot be completed or takes noticeably longer than promised, that fact goes into the review rather than being left out.

Why the German GGL licence is the entry ticket, not the whole test

Before an operator is considered for review at all, it needs a valid licence from the Gemeinsame Glücksspielbehörde der Länder (GGL) for virtual slot machines or online poker — that is the baseline that keeps an operator on this site's list in the first place, not a mark of quality by itself. A licence confirms that an operator is subject to German player-protection rules, the cross-operator deposit limit, and the OASIS self-exclusion register; it says nothing yet about how fast a withdrawal actually clears or how account verification is handled in practice. That difference is exactly what the account-opening test is built to surface.

What the six groups measure

Each group carries a fixed weight, published in full on the test criteria page, so any reader can rebuild the overall mark from the single scores.

  • Account opening and verification — how long the identity check really takes
  • Deposit and withdrawal — which routes are open and when the money arrives
  • Game range — what has been approved for the German market
  • Protective tools — limit management, panic button, self-exclusion
  • Terms — whether the rules can be understood without asking
  • Availability — support hours, response time, and the quality of the answer

Why this list changes over time

The set of operators covered here is not fixed. An operator that loses its GGL licence, or that never held one to begin with, is removed from consideration regardless of how it previously performed in an account test — under this site's content_only stance, licensing status decides who is even eligible to appear, before any grade is discussed. Conversely, an operator that gains a valid licence can be added once our own account test has actually been run against it. What that means in practice: the list below reflects operators we currently consider testable under German licensing, not a fixed roster that never changes.

Frequently asked

Does a GGL licence guarantee a good review?
No. The licence is the precondition for being tested at all — the actual grade depends on how account opening, deposit, verification, and withdrawal perform in our own test.
Why does the list of tested operators change?
An operator that loses its licence, or never held a valid one, is removed regardless of earlier results; one that gains a valid licence can be added once we have actually tested it.
What happens if a step in the test cannot be completed?
It is recorded as part of the review rather than left out — an incomplete or unusually slow step is itself a finding, not something to omit.
Are the reviews ranked?
The overview is not ordered by grade. Each report states its own single scores and the weight behind them, which keeps the section a directory rather than a recommendation list.
